In the world of business today, making your mark is everything. But do you really need to have a one-of-a-kind framework right from the start? Let’s dig into the idea of visibility and how taking up space can naturally help you uncover your unique positioning without the pressure of having a set-in-stone framework.
I was talking to one of my coaching clients about their messaging for a new offer recently and one theme that emerged was the idea of having a unique framework or process. One of the resources I created and shared with this client talked about how to position yourself differently in the market so you stand out and attract those who need your specific expertise rather than just anyone in the industry doing something similar.
The first question within this resource was, “What’s the process you guide your clients through?”. This was a new offer for the client, so while they had ideas and a general direction, the unique components weren’t yet in place. Let’s be real; it’s easier to solidify a framework after several clients have gone through the process.
This led to a thought-provoking discussion for episode 177 of the Whole Damn Vibe Podcast.
While having unique ideas and frameworks is a powerful way to differentiate yourself, we discovered that focusing too hard on being different adds unnecessary pressure on messaging and offers. We shifted focus to how the client wanted to support their clients—what transformations they sought and their pain points. As we delved deep into their business, we identified a simple yet compelling framework that emerged organically.
This is crucial because letting go of the pressure to conform to specific norms can apply to any business decision. When you stop viewing the idea of uncovering your unique framowork as a box you must check, things start to align more powerfully than if you forced them. Reflecting on my own business, my signature visibility framework didn’t appear instantly. It was a realization over time, recognizing the impact of visibility on my business’s success.
There was a moment in my business when I realized that visibility alone had generated an additional six figures in revenue over the span of three years. Clients were reaching out organically through speaking gigs and visibility opportunities, without having to launch new offers every month. This realization was a game-changer for how I showed up in my business and how I would later go on to support my own clients.
To uncover my signature visibility framework, I dug deep to understand what was working; it wasn’t guesswork. I found numerous ways I had engaged in public speaking opportunities and other collaborations that had led to sales, ultimately reverse-engineering my visibility framework. One podcast interview in particular brought in $22,000 in sales—one hour of enjoyable conversation resulted in multiple client sign-ups without chasing future clients.
Having a unique concept or framework often comes when you least expect it. What I love most about public speaking as a visibility strategy is that for many people, hearing someone speak passionately about their expertise and story can shift their perspective. This in itself can lead to them wanting to work with that expert.
Going back to the framework, these strategies are what I focus on to welcome thousands of participants into free offers while I’m off enjoying life. The signature visibility framework has enabled clients to book speaking engagements, launch podcasts, host retreats, and even start second businesses with substantial revenue. The power of visibility through public speaking is infinite.
Generating a six-figure cash boost from visibility took time. It began with identifying the framework and integrating it strategically within my business. If I’d forced a framework prematurely, the results wouldn’t have been as impactful. It’s important to let your approach develop naturally, facilitating more profound client transformations.
Beyond financial gains, the transformation I love the most is about helping clients run their businesses on their terms, gaining confidence and freedom to prioritize their ideal lifestyle. It’s about sustainable growth through visibility, creating room for rest and reflection while maintaining consistent sales and impact.
In summary, taking up space allows you to organically uncover your own unique framework. The more visible you become, the more real life practice you have talking about your expertise and supporting your clients—leading to even more confidence in your own process.
It doesn’t hurt that when you prioritize visibility through public speaking and collaborations, it also creates space on your calendar and in your life, letting you thrive personally and professionally while the “visibility systems” work in the background, ensuring a continuous flow of opportunities and sustainable success.
Sustainable marketing and visibility through public speaking is one of the core pillars we focus on inside the Speaker Experience Mastermind. It is about sustainable ways to take up space and share your mission with the world while creating a lifestyle that affords you time to make new memories and embrace happiness.
